The former Manchester United executive director, David Gill, called the transfer of the Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs `nightmare`.
`In 2008, when we won the Champions League we decided that we can`t rely on Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo to mark all the goals, so we turned to another striker and it was Berbatov. I spoke with Daniel Levy in June of the same year, we made an offer, and things ran all summer.`, revealed Gill.
`It was a nightmare. Finally, I felt that reflect the Spurs, because ultimately we agreed at midnight before the deadline so that they failed to take the deputy of Berbatov.`, says David Gill.
