Liverpool manager, Juergen Klopp said after the loss against Crystal Palace, that it is not yet clear how serious the injury was central defender Mamadou Sakho. The Frenchman was injured in a fight for a high ball with Yannick Bolasie. When he landed on the ground he dislocated his knee, jacket and drops to the ground, holding his feet.
After he was given medical attention, Sakho tried to continue the game, but remained on the field only two minutes, after which the requested change. In its place came the Croatian national Dejan Lovren.
The defender will undergo extensive medical examinations on Monday, after which it will become clear how serious his situation. From the headquarters of the reds are hoping that Sakho has no torn knee ligaments, an injury that would take him out of land for nearly six months.
`I don`t know how bad the injury is. It is still too early, we have to wait for the reviews. Hopefully, it won`t be anything serious. I would rather we had lost with 1:4, but not to lose an important member of the team. This is not good.`, commented Juergen Klopp.
Liverpool made the first loss under the leadership of the German manager, retreating with the 1:2 of the Eagles.
